Uni-TWS® : CSIRO Test Results
The CSIRO recently tested Uni-TWS® and the results are impressive. The most striking is its insulation when compared to brick veneer - a massive three times more energy efficient. When using 75 mm Uni-TWS by Unitex®, a 'complete wall' will have an R-Value of approximately 2.17. The total R-Value takes into account the Uni-TWS insulation board, internal plasterboard, air cavity and internal and external air movements. More information about the CSIRO testing of Uni-TWS can be found by visiting Technical Assessment #310 at www.cmit.csiro.au
Uni-TWS® : CSIRO Test Results
a.Insulation (ASTM C518)
When using the 75 mm based Uni-TWS®, a 'complete wall' will have an R-Value of approximately 2.17. This total is the addition of R-Value for Uni-TWS®, internal plasterboard, air cavity and internal and external air movements.
The individual R-Values are:
75 mm Uni-TWS = 1.824
50 mm Uni-TWS = 1.279
b.Fire Resistance (AS 1530.3)
Ignitability Index =0 (Range = 0Ò 20)
Spread of Flame Index =0 (Range = 0Ò 10)
Heat Evolved Index =0 (Range = 0Ò 10)
Smoke Developed Index =2 (Range = 0Ò 10)
The lower the number, the better the performance.
These results indicate that Uni-TWS® is suitable for domestic construction up to three storeys high.
(c) Waterproofing (ASTM E514)
No transmission of water through the Uni-TWS® even after
4 hours of "wind driven rain".
(d) Strength (AS/NZ 2208.1)
No damage from soft body impact, to even the surface of the Uni-TWS®, at an impact energy of 45 Joules.
