Uni-Base Board – lightweight in construction, heavyweight in energy efficient design.

Part of the Uni-EIFS™ range by Unitex®, Uni-Base Board® is a lightweight, external wall cladding comprising of pre-coated, reinforced EPS sheets used in conjunction with a low build render from the range of Unitex renders and finishes. The system offers externally insulated walls (R-value 2.6), helping achieve 5 Star energy rating or BASIX requirements. On the site of this new townhouse development stood a number of substantial gum trees, which needed to be maintained – an arborist recommended no foundations be dug around the root systems. Enter lightweight construction at its finest.

Con from MK construction was impressed by the ease with which Uni-Base Board was installed – there was no need for foundations but a solid look was still achieved. The need for heavy scaffolding and other hire equipment was also eliminated making the build even quicker and more cost effective. The trees survived the build and no doubt appreciate their stylish new surroundings.
