Unitex can help meet city's 'green' targets.

A recent push to retrofit buildings in Melbourne’s CBD to a 4.5 star energy rating has challenged specifiers to rethink refurbishments. According to theage.com.au, “Lord Mayor Robert Doyle is urging Melbourne’s private sector to dig deep and green up”.

In order to meet new ‘green’ targets, refurbishments will now include measures such as additional insulation. The R-value achieved with the Unitex® cladding range can far exceed that of interior insulation and can be installed while the building remains in use – meaning no disruption to tenants. By reducing heat gain and loss through the building’s fabric, significant on-going savings can be made. The range of lightweight cladding solutions can be added to the exterior of a building providing both insulation and a new substrate for rendering and finishing. A modern crisp finish can be achieved or Uni-Shape Mouldings added for a period appearance.
